Well after a day with the zone leaders, 32 hours in the bus, a day in Neuquén, and the awesome weekend, I am quite happy to say that I am doing absolutely fantastic! And guess what!!! So is my refuerzo!!!! I´m training a gringo, Elder Mcallister! He is from Redding Callifornia and has been out in the mission for about five months now. He finished up his time in the MTC in June and got shipped out to Arizona Phoenix mission to wait for his visa and now is finally in his first area in Argentina Neuquen! And he´s super kpo. Really keeps me on my toes trying to keep up with him. He´s pretty excited to be out here and I´m sure that we´re going to have a lot of things to do in the coming weeks. This transfer is going to be great!
You all are probably wondering about that first lovely sentence, so I´ll explain a bit. So after writing last week E´Rozas and I went and taught one last lesson and said goodbye to Natalia and Matilde before grabbing our bags and heading to the terminal to send all the missionaries north for transfers. I spent the night working with the Zone Leaders and the next morning helping out with transfers. I must say getting up at 530 to run fifteen blocks in a suit to be on time to recieve 4 missionaries a the bus terminal is not exactly my cup of tea. But luckily it was all downhill! At 1:00 the other elders from my district Elder Colombres and Elder Diaz pulled in and I took them out to their pensión. Then I ran back to my pensión, took a shower and proceeded to the bus terminal AGAIN to take the 5:30 bus up to Neuquén. Haha I have got to say it brought back a lot of memories of travelling down to Las Heras back in January.
In Neuquen we had a whole day in the mission home with the president. Lunch and Dinner were easily two of the best meals I´ve eaten on the mission. Hermana Lovell can certainly cook. Plus there´s just something about being inthe mission home that just feels like… home? I´m not sure. But it was great. Love President Lovell. And although at the beginning of the week I was pretty nervous about the new responsibilities I have as trainer and in the district, I heard everything I needed to hear Wednesday afternoon in the training meetings. We talked a lot about the influence a trainer has on their refuerzo, and how important it is to make their first two transfers a great start. But I also got quite the strong confirmation that this is what God wants of me right now, and that although it will be a great challenge, the opportunities to serve and bless the lives of my companion and those that we serve will make it all worthwhile. Mission. Love it.
Well after Wednesday afternoon we hopped back on the bus at 1000 and got back at 1ish in Comodoro. We had a quick lunch and went straight to work helping Elder Mcallister get to know the area. I must say it is quite the blessing to only have finished my own training not so long ago, and have the memories of just getting into the mission so fresh in my mind. But my gosh is my comp awesome. It´s going to be tough keeping up with him in our time together. He´s just full of animo and ready to go and contact everyone and make them feel the Spirit!
We spent most of the weekend working our tails off with those we already know and also working on getting more references and contacts to teach this week. And we got them! Now we just need to find them in their houses and it will be a sure thing!
Annnnddd!!! Matilde came to church AGAIN this week!!!! So it looks like we could be having a baptism here in Roca this Saturday! We will find out for sure on Wednesday if we´re going to do the interview on friday and then we´ll find out for sure if we´re a go on Saturday. The ward is way excited. We just don´t want to wait. Matilde knows that it´s true, she loves the Book of Mormon is true. She even asked us at the beginning of Sacrament Meeting for scriptures to read this week to help her with certain problems in the family. We just need to get this last home stretch done! Natalia… Slept in. 😛 She needs to come to sacrament at least one more time before so we´ll see if we´ll be getting her in the water in the 6th or the 13th, but it will be done! Her testimony is just too strong for it to not happen!
Well it´s that time. Again. Can you believe that it´s the end of September? Oh and Happy Birthday Mom! Can´t believe it´s already the 26th this week! Love you so much!
And to the rest of you, you all are the best. Your prayers rock. They´re so great that they bless my mission day in and day out without ever letting up. So keep it up! Because we´re starting to see miracles every single day out here in the work. They might seem small. But I know God is with us on this one. We´re doing His will. Have an incredible week and I´ll talk to ya next Monday!
