HAPPY MONDAY!!!!!!
This was the best week EVER!!!! Why? Mostly because of Natalia. She is just. The best! And guess what else!?!?!?!?! She´s also baptized!!! We had the service Saturday and it was absolutely incredible. Can you tell how happy I am? 😀 The entire week was spent praying about and coordinating the baptism. Natalia had an incredible experience in the interview, and that night we had a fun little meeting planning the service with Hno. Churreo our first counselor in the bishopric. (Our bishop is still out of town, and our recently sustained mission leader can´t be set apart until he comes back. Joy…) Saturday afternoon we swung by early to clean out and fill up the font. I must say it was such a relief to have an actual font this time around. Love Las Heras to death, but this wasn´t nearly as stressful.
And the service!!! Such a strong spirit was present. Hna. Judith our young women´s leader who has come to a few of the lessons gave one of the talks, but our slam dunk was with Natalia´s niece Lucia who just happens to be a member from the neighboring ward. Natalia was so excited and happy to be there. I´m pretty sure hers was maybe the only bigger smile than Elder McAllister´s and mine. Still on cloud nine. Or twelve. Haven´t decided. Either way I´m not coming down anytime soon! When we asked Natalia who she wanted to perform the baptism and confirmation, she insisted that I baptized her and E´McAllister confirmed her. Yeah, she´s a bit persistent. Best ever. The ward was super super excited with the service, and welcomed Natalia with gusto after sacrament meeting.
As far as the rest of the Franco family goes, I pretty much cried when I heard that Pedro, Natalia´s father, who just so happened to be in our first couple lessons with them was coming down to the service. He ate everything up. He lives up in Mar de Plata in another mission, and we´re trying to get the missionaries to start teaching him. Because that entire family is just golden. Matilde loved the entire weekend, and we´re keeping our fingers crossed that we´ll be filling up the font again in the next couple weeks. AAAAAHHHH!!!!!!
I´m happy. Deal with it.
Oh, and by the way, the transfer´s over! The Zone Leader´s gave me the call Saturday night that my entire district is staying put. Not a huge surprise! But it does make me so glad. The four of us worked so hard to get the work up and running in both of our areas. As far as Barrio Roca goes, we know so many people. It´s a little tough to find them at home so that we can help them become investigators, but with a little bit of planning and hard work, we´ll get it done. This next transfer is going to be the best!!!
I must say this transfer flew by at a ridiculous pace. It is such a pleasure to be comps with Elder McAllister. He´s so incredibly dedicated to the work, and he teaches so well. It´s hard to keep up with him at times, and although he´s still learning, I´m pretty sure I am the one being trained here. This next six weeks are going to be amazing.
Thank you everyone for your support and prayers. Every now and then I just try to picture in my mind all of the people who are praying and hoping for our success here in Comodoro. It´s in those moments that I can do whatever is necessary in the day. Some days are tough, and we do a ton of walking. But this week the immense joy that I have felt has been overwhelming. Lots of happy tears. I love this mission so much. I´ve never done anything that is this fulfilling. Nothing compares to helping someone turn to God and change their lives for the better by embracing the Gospel of Christ.
Have an incredible week everyone! Keep up the prayers! There are so many miracles happening to us out here, and we owe part of that to all of you. I´m so grateful to have such wonderful family and friends rooting for our success and the success of our investigators. Paz fuera!
Love,
Elder Davis
